The design process

What is design? 


Design as a noun informally refers to a plan for the construction of an object or a system (as in architectural blueprints, engineering drawing, business process, circuit diagrams and sewing patterns) while “to design” (verb) refers to making this plan.


Define brief


Key project planning document that specifies what theproject has to achieve, by what means, and within what time frame.


Define specifications


Exact statement of the particular needs to be satisfied, or essential characteristics that a customer requires (in agood, material, method, process, service, system, or work) and which a vendor must deliver.


What are resources in design?


Alright vector lovers, let’s turn on multiple-pages ‘eh! Adobe Illustrator is great, it’s my favorite program actually, but even with the new Artboards feature in CS4 it just doesn’t compare to InDesign for creating multi-page documents. 


What is evaluation? 


Evaluation is the process of determining significance or worth, usually by careful appraisal and study. 


What are key stages? 


A Key Stage is a stage of the state education system in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the British Territory of Gibraltar setting the educational knowledge expected of students at various ages. The term Key Stage is also used in Hong Kong although the ages at which each Key Stage applies differ from England.


Why is it important to do background research before starting a design project?


Background research is necessary so that you know how to design and understand your experiment.
